Nancye Carroll Alloway

Nancye Carroll Alloway, 93, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away April 22, 2026. Born September 19, 1932, Nancye’s life was marked by steadfast purpose, quiet strength, and a devotion to doing what was right and necessary—day after day, year after year.

Nancye graduated from South Pittsburg High School and later received her associate’s degree from McKenzie Business College, preparing her with the discipline and skills that would define her life’s work.

For 75 years, Nancye ran and operated Alloway Stamping and Machine Company, Inc. Her work ethic was not a slogan but a standard she lived by; despite her failing health, she remained committed—still going into the office and putting in full days. She held herself to high expectations and, with the same steady fairness, expected as much from others as she did herself.

A woman of faith, Nancye loved the Lord and her life reflected a sincere, unwavering heart for Missions Ministries. Her generous spirit expressed itself not only in giving, but also in the constancy of her support and the depth of her conviction. She was a longtime member of Highland Park Baptist Church and later became a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church. Over the years, she also served on numerous boards and organizations, offering dependable and principled leadership shaped by devotion and determination.

Nancye is survived by her sister, Mary Jim Deknoblough, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, EB and Frances Alloway, two brothers, and one sister.

A Celebration of Nancye’s life and enduring spirit will be held in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 1:30 pm. Family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 pm. She will be laid to rest alongside her parents in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nancye’s memory may be made to Hickory Valley Baptist Church, 2320 Hickory Valley Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
