Pamela Dee Blevins (nee Sewell) passed away at home on November 4, 2017 following a courageous battle with cancer. Pam was born in Chattanooga and graduated from Hixson High school. She attended UT Chattanooga and Cleveland State University and worked as a paralegal for many years. She was a long time member of the Hixson United Methodist Church.
Her early years living on her grandparents’ farm in Rossville Georgia left a lasting impression on Pam and fostered her life-long love of animals and nature. Pam was a voracious reader and enjoyed learning and sharing her passion about the natural world through books and the conferences which she attended.
She continued her work with animals through her philanthropy, as well as volunteerism at the Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center. She spent her retirement working with animals, gardening on her farm and spoiling her grandson. She will be remembered for her love of music and the Oakland Raiders, unforgetable laugh, defense of the underdog and joy for life.
Pam is preceded in death by her father, Talmadge Sewell and mother and Step father Alma and William Schillhahn. Pam is survived by her daughter and husband, Lauren and Garrett Wolfford; grandson, Garrett Wolfford Jr; special cousins, Marta Holmes, Teresa Peters, and Linda Salisbury; faithful pets Caesar, Breeze, Ziggy and Stark and many loving family members and friends. Services will be private. Her family requests that donations in her memory be made to the animal charity of donor’s choice.
Arrangements are held by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
