A retired employee of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), Rebecca, who most knew by “Ann”, dedicated her life to her family, finding joy in reading and creating warm memories with her loved ones.
Rebecca was a devout Christian. She was a member of Peoples Baptist Church in Rossville Ga. She had a unique gift for making others laugh, using her vibrant sense of humor to brighten the lives of those around her. Her favorite place was at home, curled up with a book, often accompanied by her cherished Yorkie, Cooper, who remained by her side until the end.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ron “Duck” Dotson, her 2 children, Wendy (David) Thompson and Cary (Gigi) Dotson, and her siblings, Kathy (Charlie) Brown, Danny (Kathy) Hitchcox, and Connie (Mike) Cross. Rebecca was the proud grandmother of Jordan (Drew) Randolph, DJ Thompson, and Abby Dotson, from Chattanooga, and Emory Dotson of Warner Robbins, GA. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Emma, Anahlie, and Lola.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Lois Allred Garrison and Wilburn Marshall Hitchcox, and her brother, Tony Hitchcox.
Her warmth and ability to make everyone feel welcome will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Psalm 73:26: "My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever".
