He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joyce Lingerfelt, grandson, Justin Chrisman, and great-granddaughter, Jayci Chrisman.
He was born on December 28, 1957 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Arthur James and Millinee Mary Herron Lingerfelt.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Lingerfelt, brothers, Charles and Ray Lingerfelt, and step-daughter, Donna Chrisman.
Ricky worked several years at Memorial Hospital as a mechanic, however his profession that he loved most was working for James Bankston as a painter.
Ricky was an avid lover of animals. He enjoyed many years spending time at his remote cabin on Towee Mountain. he also enjoyed many hours on his boat with family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM on Friday, November 21, 2025 in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 3 PM in the chapel with Pastor Bill Harvey officiating. Interment will take place at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
