

Bob was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and attended Chattanooga Public Schools. He served our country in the United States Navy during that time he played football and baseball. Bob retired from DuPont with over 31 years of service. He was a member of First Christian Church and the Kemp Class. Bob served as an elder, a deacon and as MC at the Wednesday night dinners, which he loved. He was very active in church softball, was a coach and manager for slow pitch softball at DuPont, and attending UTC Basketball games. He acted in many plays and productions at the Little Theater. Bob loved to travel, attend movies, and was the heart and soul of all his family. He was a 32nd degree Mason and he loved his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Ida Lewis; a daughter, Lee Ann Lewis Ridgeway.
Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ruby Lewis; son, Scott Lewis; grandsons, Michael Ridgeway and Scott Ridgeway and wife Angie; great grandson, Dylon Ridgeway; brother, Leroy Lewis and two nieces and two nephews; and many great and great great nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends from 12 (noon) till 1 pm on Thursday, November 19, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will follow at 1 pm on Thursday at the funeral home chapel with Reverend Brandon Gilvin and Reverend Phil Summerlin officiating. Burial will be private at National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to First Christian Church, 450 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37404 or to your favorite charity.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
