Robert J. Lane

lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rubin and Viola Lane,

daughter, Sherry Lane, brothers, Alan, Tommy, Gerald Lane and sisters Linda Bryant, Donna Benson and Vallie Reid.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Lula Katherine, sons James, and Robert E. (Anna) Lane, grandchildren, Cassie Lane, Dustin Lane, Derrick Lane and Natalie McNabb, two great grandchildren Josh and Jesse McNabb. Robert is also survived by brothers David, Percy, and Richmond Lane, sisters Bonnie Evans and Jean Ray. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Robert spent his life working on the water. He was a man with a large caring heart. He was a loyal employee of Southern Marine Construction for over 40 years. He took pride in his work and several of his jobs were featured in Waterways Journal.

The family would like to express their sincere love and appreciation to Avalon Hospice.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 6, at the North Chapel with Chaplain Don Sapp officiating. Pallbearers will be Pete Serdino, Peter Serdino, Harry Deboard, Herb Perryman, Tony Pritchett, and Alex Emerson. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
