Robyn Bible Tobias

Robyn was born to Ray and Susan Bible on March 27th, 1973, and has resided in both Chattanooga, TN and Birmingham, AL. She was married to Steve Tobias for 27 years, had three children Xan, Jacob, and Jase, and grandchildren Leland and Coen. She was of the Christian faith and a member of the Hixson United Methodist Church.

Robyn’s compassion and care for others led her to a successful career in the healthcare industry. She was employed for 13 years at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga (UTC) as a Professor in the Nursing program. She was a 4-time graduate of UTC, obtaining her BS, BSN, MSN-FNP, and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the university. Her writings have been published in the Journal of Nursing Education and The Journal for Nurse Practitioners. She has also presented at Nursing conferences throughout the U.S., Cambridge University in the UK, and in Puerto Rico. She served on multiple committees in the state of TN, and was a member of several distinguished Nursing clubs and organizations such as Zeta Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, Nursing’s honor society, and membership chairman of the Chattanooga Area Nurses in Advanced Practice.

Robyn’s greatest love was her family. In her free time, she found great joy in planning and organizing Disney trips or beach trips. She also enjoyed watching her kids excel in sports and cheering them on from the stands.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ray Bible; and grandparents Clarence and Watha Durand, Raymond and Hope Bible, and William (Bill) Brown. She is survived by her loving husband, Steve; children, Xan, Jacob, and Jase; grandchildren, Leland and Coen; mother, Susan Bible; her sister, Beth Ridge (Scott, Ansley, Cooper, and Ellie); grandmother, Catherine Brown; and several members of her extended family.

A visitation for Robyn will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, P.O. Box 9, Hixson, TN 37343. A second visitation will occur Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A celebration of Robyn's life will occur Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM. The family will proceed to Hamilton Memorial Gardens for the committal, 5351 TN-153, Hixson, TN 37343.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Robyn's memory can be made to Dorothy and Jim Kennedy Health Sciences Building, the future home of UTC School of Nursing. Information and link is down below.
