

Ron was born in Nashville, Tennessee on May 26, 1945. He attended and graduated from MTSU with a degree in Industrial Management. Ron was owner and operator for Rowlett Incorporated for 48+ years. His sons, Tim and Chris continue to run the business and carry on the legacy left by their father. He and Cheryl were lifetime members of Abba’s House for over 48 years. Ron helped construct the new sanctuary at the church and was very involved in all facets of the church including serving as a deacon of the church and teaching Sunday school. He was a member of the John Day Sunday School Class. Ron was an avid traveler, he and Cheryl enjoyed extensive traveling all around the world. They both enjoyed cruising with their friends, Ron and Paulette Phillips and Frank and Martha Steil. They also enjoyed spending time with their friends, Donna and Bob Mader.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Rowlett and mother, Lois Underwood.
Those left to cherish Ron’s memory are his wife of 52 years, Cheryl Rowlett, children, Chris; Tim (Lauren); and Jennifer Rowlett, grandchildren, Carter; Landen; Reese; Berkley; and Marli, and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held in the sanctuary of Abba’s House on Tuesday January 10, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Dr. Ron Phillips and Dr. Ronnie M. Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and again on Tuesday from 12:00 pm until service time. He will be laid to rest in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Ron’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and McKamey Animal Shelter.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Mark Heinsohn who went above and beyond in assisting the family with Ron’s care.
