Mr. Cason was a native of Tuscumbia, AL. He was born to the late Jessie Ottis Cason and Pearl Malone Cason on January 24, 1928. Roy founded and operated Cason’s Auto Rebuilders from 1960 to 2008. He was a member of East Ridge United Methodist Church for many years where he served as chairman of the administrative council, chair of the men’s club, president of his Sunday school class, and usher. Roy was also a former member of Ridgedale United Methodist Church until it merged with East Ridge United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Cason; parents, listed above; and brother, J.O. Cason.
Survivors include his loving wife, JoAnn Ramsey Cason of Chattanooga, TN; daughter, Candace (John) Loertcher of Austin, TX; son, Roy M. (Marilyn) Cason Jr. of Calhoun, GA; and sisters-in-law, Patricia Ramsey of Tallahassee, FL and Kandy (Randy) Boleman of Chattanooga, TN.

A visitation for Roy will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home – North, 5402 Highway 153 Hixson, TN 37343. The funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home starting at 1:00 pm with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. Family and friends will then proceed to Hamilton Memorial Gardens for the committal service.
