Roy Rumfelt

Born in Morganton, N.C. to the late Roy Rumfelt Sr. and Leona Bishop Rumfelt, he grew up in Morristown, T.N. where he graduated from Morristown High School

then went on to attend University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Roy was a U.S. Army Veteran

and a member of Abba’s House.

Roy was employed by the Hamilton County Assessor of Property for 38 years as the Chief Deputy. He was a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers and was a past board member and currently served as the Vice-Chairman of the Ethics Committee. He was also a member and past President of the Tennessee Association of Assessing officers.

He held designations as Certified Assessment Evaluator, Residential Evaluation Specialist, Tennessee Master Assessor and Tennessee Certified Assessor. Roy was a member of and past President of the Hixson Kiwanis Club.

Roy is survived by his wife, Sherry Lamb Rumfelt; his sons Robert ( Mary) Rumfelt and Kenneth (Marcie) Rumfelt; daughter Christy Rawlston ( Brent) Sentell; brother Bobby Rumfelt; grandchildren Molly and Cooper Rumfelt, Riley and Jackson Rumfelt, and Ella and Lily Sentell

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 4 – 8 pm and Wednesday from 12 p.m. until the time of service at Chattanooga Funeral Home- North Chapel

The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sterling Jetton officiating

The interment will follow to Hamilton Memorial Gardens
