

She was the most loving and kind Christian lady, and will be missed by many. Shirley was a graduate of Red Bank High School, class of 1956. She was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church, and was awarded the “Lady of the Year” in 2014, for her dedication to the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William “Billy” Richie; her parents, James Arnold and Lottie Craft; brother, James Craft.
Shirley is survived by her sisters, Shelby (Junior) Taylor, Arnell (Joe) Lewis, and Virginia Hartman; brother, Michael (Glenda) Craft; sister-in-law, Paula Craft; brother-in-law, Leon Richie; and a very helpful nephew, Bobby Skinner, as well as many other loving nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to the staff and nurses at CHI Memorial Hixson Hospital for their excellent care given to Shirley.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 9 pm on Wednesday, December 28, and 1 to 2:30 pm on Thursday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Shirley’s life will follow at 2:30 pm on Thursday at the North Chapel with her Pastor Odell Broadway officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with her nephews serving as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s name to Union Springs Baptist Church, 5911 Levi Road, Chattanooga, TN 37415.
