Vernon D. Camp

He was born February 26, 1940 to the late Vernon Woodrow Camp and Anne Laura Camp. Doyle was a loving son, caring brother, devoted husband, loving father of five, very proud grandfather of eight, great-grandfather of five, uncle and loyal friend to so many.

Doyle was a member of the Silverdale Baptist Church. He worked at Cavalier Corporation for 32 yrs., eventually serving as President of the company. He served as Commissioner of East Brainerd Youth Athletic Association, and also coached his sons and daughter there for many years. Doyle was an avid football fan. He was quarterback at Tyner High School where he played alongside his lifelong friend Phil Bacon. He also officiated Youth Football and TSSAA Football for many years in the Chattanooga area. After attending Tyner High School, he graduated from UTC with a degree in Engineering.

Doyle is preceded in death by his father Vernon Woodrow Camp, his mother Anne Laura Camp, his son Scott Patrick Camp, and his grand-daughter Ashley Brooke Foss.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Brenda Camp, children, Jeff Camp, Susan Camp, Kim (Tracy) Burton, Kelly Goins, his grandchildren, Michael Camp, Christopher Camp, Jackson Camp, Emily (Donald) Johnson, Kennedy (Mick) Lott, Patrick O’Brien, Evan O’Brien (Jasmine), and great-grandchildren Lynley Crandall, Violet O’Brien, Maverick Johnson, Mason Johnson and Levi Lott.

Services will be provided by Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN, 37343

The family will receive friends and family members on Friday, February 26 from 1pm – 3pm, with burial service at the Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel to follow.
