He was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., July 17, 1938, and worked as a pressman at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for 25 years and at the Chattanooga Free Press for 20 years. He was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan and a wonderful father, grandfather and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie Wilson and Julia Irene (Walker) Wilson; brothers, Wesley Wilson, Floyd Wilson, Joe Wilson, James Wilson and Bill Wilson; and sister Patricia (Wilson) Glover
Survivors include his daughters, Jacqueline Michele Wilson (Mike) Demers, Shelia Kaye (Wilson) Sissom; son, Tommy Wilson; ex-wife, Patricia Ann Wilson; sisters, Joyce Stephens, Debbie Parker, Ina Lea Bowgorwan and Diane Correll; granddaughters, Brandi (Jonathan) Dixon and Brooke Szackas; grandson Nathan Demers and great-children Madeline Dixon, Charles Avery Wallace Dixon, Connor Donahue and Brian Szackas; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors and friends Thursday, April 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, April 18 at 2:30 p.m. also at the North Chapel.
