Mr. William Charles Voss

William ‘’Bill” Charles Voss , 89, of Hixson, TN, we to be with the Lord on Friday, October 16, 2015 in his home after fighting a battle of cancer.

Bill was born January 14 ,1926 in Pensacola, Florida. He married Reta Mar Grisham on August 9, 1952 in Grand Prairie, Texas. From 1962-1969 he worked for The Boeing Company with the Apollo Program. After the Apollo Program ended, he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for TVA until he retired in 1990. Bill Served in the United States Air Force for 2 years in the South Pacific. He completed 9 total missions during WWII. He was a member of Abba’s House, in Hixson, for 42 years where he was a Deacon, taught Sunday School and worked with the Sharing Love Program.

Bill is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Sierra; mother and father Betty and Newell Voss; brother Robert Voss; granddaughter Sarah Ashley Voss .

Bill is survived by his wife Reta Voss of Hixson, Tennessee; sons Richard ( Lauren) Voss of North Port, Florida, Michael, Ronnie, and Clinton Voss all of Hixson, Tennessee; six grandchildren Rachel ( Doug) Gardner of Frisco, Texas, Jennifer ( Derrick) Lamb of Eielson, Alaska, Tiffany Voss of Hixson, Tennessee, Joshua Nicholas and Samuel Voss both of North Port, Florida; six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 4-7pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel and on Friday, October 23 from 1-2:30 pm at Abba’s House

Funeral service for Bill will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Friday, October 23 at Abba’s House

Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Missions at Abba’s House , 5208 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tennessee 37343
