Originally from Birmingham, AL, Mickey graduated from the University of Alabama in 1969. He relocated to Chattanooga, TN in 2002.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hiram Wix, his mother, Minnie Mae Parker, his step-father, Albert Parker, his sister, Jan Wix, and his step-sister, Mary Elizabeth Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Holloran Wix, his son and daughter-in-law, Brandon Darby and Brandy Board Wix, and the grandchildren he adored, Sydney Gray and Andrew Patrick Wix (Helena, AL). He also leaves behind his parents-in-law, Michael and Jean Holloran (Foley, AL), his sisters and bothers-in-law, Patti Holloran and Bradley Salvage (Birmingham, AL) and Debra Bigge and Kevin Holloran (San Miguel de Allende, Mexico) and many, many good friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel.
The family will receive visitors immediately prior to the service from 12 (noon) to 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
