Ada Ruth Boyd, born February 8, 1927 in Itasca, Texas, passed away June 12, 2011 in Houston, Texas. She was a teacher at Alamo School for many years and a chaplain for Harris County Jail. Ada Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll McFadden Boyd Jr.; son, Jerry Boyd; parents, Ruth Eleanor Faries McDaniel and Charles Burgan McDaniel; and granddaughter, Ashley Erin Boyd. She is survived by her son, Gary Boyd; grandchildren, Christi Boyd, Joshua Boyd, Jason Virgadamo, Shelley Horton, Kelsee Boyd, and six great grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Heights Funeral Home on Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
