

Tamy was born in Missouri Valley, Iowa on June 25, 1915. In her youth she attended St. Patrick's School and Church in Missouri Valley and later married William (Bill) Neufind, also of Missouri Valley. They had three daughters, Mary Jane (Spacek), Jody (Toon) and Marlene (Buisson). The family moved to Houston after World War II. Bill passed away in 1970 and a few years later she married his good friend Earl (Shorty) Shofner. They had 18 years of happiness together.She is predeceased by her parents, brother Ralph, sister Alice, husbands Bill and Shorty, all three of her daughters, grandson Jason Wilson, great granddaughter Frances Abowd and great-great granddaughter Madyson Abidlatif. She is survived by her 2 stepchildren, 11 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 24 great-great grandkids, all of whom will sorely miss her loving, caring good-natured ways.She reached the 100-year milestone last June and her grandchildren and close family friends hosted a large party in her honor with dinner, dancing and lots of photos and shared memories.Tamy became ill Monday, August 3rd. After spending more than a week in hospital, she was released to home hospice. She had a great homecoming celebration Wednesday evening, slept peacefully afterwards and passed into God's gentle hands on Thursday morning, August 13, 2015, surrounded by family.A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 18 from 5-9 PM with a rosary at 7 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, August 19 at 11AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 5560 Laurel Creek Way, Houston, TX 77017. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral service at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
