

Albina Frances Yanowski Jones went to her God on Sunday, May 27, 2012. She was born October 4, 1922, the first child and only daughter of Frank and Julia Kowalski Yanowski near the town of Bremond, Texas. She was baptized and received the Sacraments at St. Mary’s Parish there and attended St. Mary’s School and Bremond High School. She married her husband, Billy O. Jones, on February 17, 1957. They made their home in the nearby town of Kosse where they welcomed their two sons into the world. After Billy’s untimely death in 1971, she moved her young family to Houston. Albina lived a full life that ranged from travel by horse and buggy to jet airliners. She met the joys and hardships of life with grace, strength and abundant faith. She is remembered for her joyful spirit, her selfless generosity and her love of gardening, animals, singing and cooking great food which she delighted in sharing with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother Theodore Yanowski and wife Elizabeth; sister in law Clara Yanowski; sister in law Eleanor Walston and husband Jack; brother in law Hardy Jones and wife Genevieve; and nephews Steve Jones and Allen Kent. She is survived by her son Billy and his wife Linell; son Donald and his wife Vallie; her grandchildren Julia, Jonathan and Angelina Jones; brothers Richard Yanowski and Ray Kent; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd., Houston TX on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary recital at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Parish, 3600 Brinkman St., Houston TX. She will be taken to her final rest next to her husband in Kosse, Texas.
