Alfred R Martinez

Alfred Martinez went home to be with our Lord on April 21, 2015 at the age of 55. He was preceded in death by both parents Sebastian C. Martinez and Esperanza R. Martinez. He is survived by fiancé Denise Lima of Brazil, daughters Susan Salas and husband John Salas, Roseann Martinez and fiancé Robert Bonilla, Carissa Martinez and fiancé Martin Alvarez, Victoria Martinez, Kerry Megan Martinez, grandchildren Dominique Salas, John Salas, Xavier Salas, Elana Salas, and Averi Snow Alvarez, great granddaughter Janalee Salas, and forthcoming great granddaughter Anayah Nevaeh, sister Hope Vera and husband Ron, brothers John Martinez and wife Sylvia, Robert Martinez and wife Yolanda, brother Vincent Martinez, sister Veronica Castaneda and husband Adam; 7 nephews and 8 nieces, and a number or extended family and friends who loved him dearly.

Alfred was an outdoor enthusiast. Among the things he loved were hunting, fishing, boating, golf, his motorcycle, football and baseball. His extensive travels took him to Australia, China, the Philippines, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt, Mexico and Brazil.

The things most people remember about Alfred was his wit, his charm, his personality, his charisma, his smile and most of all his love for life. His love and kindness was felt around the globe while leaving his mark everywhere he went. He always spoke highly of the people he would meet and his personality always won him the friendships he made around the world.

Words cannot express the gratitude the family has for the loving and kind friends that have provided the love and support during his time abroad.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas 77023 from 2-9 p.m. on Thursday April 30, 2015. A service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. He will be laid to rest at Forest Park Lawndale on Friday the 1st of May at 10 a.m. with a brief prayer starting at 9:30 a.m.
