Anna Bell Allen

Anna Bell Rice Allen, 95, of Houston, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. She was born on August 6, 1915 in Iola, Grimes County, Texas. She married her school sweetheart, Gerald H. Allen. They relocated to Houston where they had 55 blessed years together. Anna became the matriarch of her family. Her two sons gave her 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren. Anna was a retired bookkeeper from Richey’s Groceries in Houston, Texas. She was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 594.

Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald H. Allen and son, Travis E. Allen. She is survived by her sister, Ruby Middleton(101), brother, Wilbur Rice(83), son, Larry & Dixie Allen, daughter-in-law, Linda Allen, grandchildren: Alisa Allen, Teresa & Melvin Johnson, Greg & Gloria Allen, Saundra Allen, Mary Derryberry, Sean Allen, great grandchildren: Mark Anthony, Patrick, Michael, Amanda, Brittany, Samantha, Troy, Jonathan, Briony, Sabrina, Traylund, Alexis, Greg Jr., Joshua, great- great grandchildren: Jordan J., Kaylin, Dillon, Jordan F., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m, March 14, 2011 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. in the Main Chapel. Interment to follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
