Anna Mae was born on October 19, 1914 in Humble, TX to William Zane Woodward and Mary Fox Woodward. She graduated from Milby High School, Houston, TX in 1934. She worked as a cashier at Globe Department Store in Houston until her retirement in 1962.
Anna Mae had a passion for dancing: ballroom, square and, yes, belly dancing too! She also loved playing cards (Skip-Bo being her favorite!), solving crossword puzzles, playing in the handbell choir and shooting pool; she even had her own custom pool cues! She was known for her honesty, integrity, unconditional love and kind, compassionate spirit.
Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents Will and Mary, sisters: Valera, Bessie and Naomi, son; Harley and great grandson, Trevor. Also, son-in-law, Robert. She is survived by a sister Elise, sons; Zane and Robby (wife Debbie) and daughter; Annelle. Grandchildren: Tammie, Arista (husband Manuel), Amber, Melanie (husband Andrew) and Brian (wife Bianca). Great grandchildren: Nicholas, Tamara, Illan and Mariana Mae.
Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, TX 77023 is in charge of the arrangements. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 2 , 2020 @ 1:00 p.m. at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
