

He grew up in Walker County, going to school in Huntsville and graduating from Huntsville High School. Ansol joined the National Guard and completed his enlistment, and received an honorable discharge. He met the love of his life, Lucy Busa, and they were married November 23, 1955. They had one daughter, Kathy Elaine Holiday. Ansol received a diploma from University of Houston for the Houston Police Department. He left HPD and went to work for General Electric, but his passion was to repair firearms. Ansol left GE and went to work for Les Freer at Freer's Gun Shop. He worked there for over 50 years until they closed in 2023 when he was 88 years old. Ansol was an avid outdoorsman, loving to deer hunt with his son-in-law. He took care of his wife until her death in 2023. He missed her greatly.
Ansol is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Busa Holiday; daughter, Kathy Holiday Bednarek; parents, Chester Holiday & Evelyn Capps Holiday; brothers, Edward Holiday, James Albert Richardson, Hubert Richardson; sister, Pauline Richardson Lamentola. He is survived by his son-in-law, Albert Bednarek; grandson, Josh Bednarek and wife Tonja; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
A visitation for Ansol will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd, Houston, TX 77008. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 1317 Heights Blvd, Houston, TX 77008. A committal service will occur Friday, May 31, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Oakland Cemetery, 801 6th St, Navasota, TX 77868.
