Arianna Olivia Abrego, aged 20, passed away surrounded by family on January 11th, 2026. She was born on the June 15, 2005 to parents Alonso Abrego, Jr. and Bessie Sorto in Houston, TX, becoming the light and joy of the Abrego family. To her sisters, she was "Adi" a devoted sister who showered them with love, attention, gifts and the snacks that they shouldn't always have.
In her formative years, Arianna participated in ballet, dance and cheerleading. She graduated from HECHS on June 3, 2023, where she left an impression on those who taught her. She volunteered at the SPCA because she was found of animals and their welfare and raised a tiny kitten she found with care. She began her first job after graduation at Raising Canes, she was proud of her family and wanted to understand her grandmother and aunt, who worked a family restaurant when she was a baby. She was quickly promoted to a manager before she was 20 years old. She was intelligent, responsible, self-motivated, ambitious, organized, and hard working, and so much like her paternal grandmother.
She was presently enrolled at Lone Star College completing her focus on Science and Technology with plans of completing a bachelor's in Safety & Project Management like her father. She was a Daddy's Girl through-and-through; they were best friends who shared long talks daily, with mutual love and admiration. She was her sister Sophia's best friend and like a mother to sister Elizabeth, both who she loved deeply and doted on generously without hesitation. Arianna was a blessing and such a great child, sister, granddaughter, and niece. She had a noble heart and gave so much of herself to her family and cared so much for her sisters.
Arianna had an adventurous spirit and thirst for life. She enjoyed spending time with her father and sisters, visiting different cities and going on road trips, with detours to water parks at every opportunity. She loved food, especially Grandma's cooking, and would often enjoy eating out with her friends to explore new foods. She enjoyed tinkering and building things and had a vast collection of Legos, particularly Star Wars figurines that she was extremely proud of and displayed with pride.
Arianna was just becoming a young woman with a luminous presence that could light up any room. She was beautiful and lively, with an infectious laughter and love of life, and was still shy and humble. She enjoyed people and socializing, with a special childhood bond to her best friend Joely Acosta and boyfriend Erick Sanchez, who were an integral part of her life. She had just started to build professional relationships as she imagined her professional future. Her absence is one that will be noticed but she will never be forgotten.
Arianna was survived by her father, Alonso Abrego, Jr.; her sisters Sophia and Elizabeth; her paternal grandmother Norma Balderas; her Aunt Norma Olivia Abrego; and her beloved dog Greba and cats Sanji and Mantequilla. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Alonso Abrego, Sr.; her paternal grandparents Eugenio and Natalia Balderas; and her beloved Frenchie Mini who will all be receiving her with open arms.
