

Arthur McKinney was born April 2, 1931, in Memphis, Tennessee. He departed his life on January 30, 2025, in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Carrington and Celia, brothers Harry, Sylvester, Charlie, Vance and sister Cora Mae Cash.
“RC” as he was affectionately called by his family and “Mac” by his friends, leaves to mourn in his passing, a devoted wife of 70 years, Essie Mae McKinney; Daughter,Bridgette R. Roby (Donald); Granddaughter, Shonté N. Randall; Great-granddaughter, Ava G. Randall; Raised as his own son, Alvin B. Hawkins (Yvonne); Grandson, Kendrick Donahue; Great grandson Kaleb Donahue; Great granddaughter, Kiari Donahue; sister-in-laws, Margaret & Beatrice, a host of Nieces, Great Nieces, Nephews, Great Nephews and Friends.
A proud veteran, Arthur served 2 years in the Army as a Private E2 CPL, during the Korean War in the 38th
Infantry Regiment. He received The Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Combat
Infantryman Badge as well as the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation.
On November 13, 2016, he rededicated his life to our Lord and Savior at Garden of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Robert E. Daniels Sr. Even though he only had an elementary school education,he worked himself up to foreman for LEM Construction and later became part-owner of J.L. Cox Construction.Upon his retirement, you would find Arthur cutting lawns,
sharing his wisdom, and playing dominos with his friends.
