

Art was born to Fritz Emil Swanson and Bena Antone Jacobs in Springfield, Nebraska on January 2nd, 1932. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1948. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and received an Honorable Discharge as a corporal in 1954.
He married Beverly Juanita Cooper in 1956, had Dave Swanson in 1957 and moved to Pasadena Texas in 1960. After Beverly passed away in 1988, Art married Yolanda Amoroso in 1991, and they lived together in Pasadena, until Yolanda passed away in 1999. Then Art met Alla Manilich in Cleveland, Ohio, were married in 2000 and in 2001 Art and Alla moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Alla passed away in 2019 and was buried back in Cleveland. Art will be buried between Beverly and Yolanda.
Art is survived by his son, Dave Swanson/wife Lia in Atlanta, Georgia and his three grandsons, Brad, Jared and Drew and 4 great grandchildren, Makayla, McKenzie, Henry and Eliott.
Art worked at DuPont de Namours for 30 years as the Plant Supervisor. Art loved to fish, mostly for Speckled Trout, Bull Redfish in Galveston Bay and his success was widely known in the Area. In fact, The American Sportsman fishing show (1965 – 1988) back in the 1960’s interviewed Art at his house on Jane Drive to be featured/filmed on the Television Show. Art later declined; he did want to reveal his prime fishing spot on the South Jette in Galveston, Texas.
A Graveside Gathering/Celebration of Art’s Life is scheduled for July 20 at 10:00am at Grand View Memorial Park Pavilion at 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas.
