Barbara Alexander Cloninger passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 27, 2017. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas on June 28, 1931 to Dr. and Mrs. H.L. Alexander. She attended San Jacinto High School, and later SMU where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Fraternity. She was an active member of Central Presbyterian Church. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her husband, James Cloninger, and her son, James Cloninger, Jr. and her brother, Dr. HL Alexander, Jr.
She is survived by her brother, Dr. Robert Alexander, her children, Karen C. Brace, Thomas and Mignon Cloninger, and David Cloninger. She leaves behind grandchildren Jason and Lynne Brace, Kelli Brace, Kathleen and Thomas Howard, Emily Cloninger, Caroline and Alyssa Cloninger. She was blessed to become a great grandmother to Logan, Ashtyn, and Barrett Brace, and expected baby Howard. Barbara is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 30, 5-7:30pm, with funeral services to be held Saturday, July 1, 10:30am at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
