

Barbara Anne (BK) Reeves Kolaski passed away on February 17, 2014, after a long illness. She was in no pain and surrounded by her family. Barbara Anne was born on August 29, 1931, in Wellington, Texas, on the southern banks of the Red River. When Barbara Anne was seven years old, she moved to Jayton, Texas, with her parents and began the life of a "Farm Girl Remembered." She had a happy childhood, enjoying her parents all to herself, and then they welcomed her brother, Robert Edward, when she was fifteen years old. Barbara Anne moved to Pasadena, Texas, in 1954 and was soon welcomed into the Kolaski Family with open arms. She met her husband, Stosh, at the wedding of her best friend Jean and his brother, Leonard. She and Stosh made their home in Pasadena and had three children. Barbara Anne enjoyed the life of a stay-at-home mom until her kids were grown and then she pursued a writing career and was traditionally published by Walker and Avon Books out of New York. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley "Stosh" Kolaski and her parents, Ed and Ruth Reeves of Jayton, Texas. She is survived by her brother, Robert Edward Reeves, her children and their spouses, Anne Marie and James Novark, Linda and Clayton Hengst, John and Cheryl Kolaski, and her grandchildren, Gene Novark, Carrie Novark, Helen Valier, Suzanne Hengst and Clayton Hengst and numerous friends, writing students and relatives.
