Barbara Barb Ann Long

Barbara "Barb" Ann Long, 56, loving daughter, sister, aunt and faithful friend passed away on May 4, 2011. She was born on October 5, 1954 in Perry, Iowa to Donald and Charlotte Rasmussen Long, and passed away in Houston, Texas.

Barb was a member of Houston's First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a longtime Sunday School teacher. She was employed with Central Christian Academy and the Houston Astro's.

Survived by her mother, Charlotte Long; brothers, Steve Long and wife Alcadia; David Long and wife Janice, Timmy Long and wife Rebecca; nieces and nephews, Alan Bellinger and wife Liz, Rene Hall, Steve Long and wife Crystal, Jana White and Ron, Lauren Padilla and husband John and Matthew Long; great-nieces and great-nephews, Quint Bellinger, Elisabeth and Hunter Hall, Mira Long, Titus Long, Charlotte and Leila Long, Ethan and Evan White. The family wishes also to acknowledge with sincere appreciation Susan McCluskey for her loving care, friendship and support.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2011 in the Chapel of Houston's First Baptist Church, 7401 Katy, Freeway, Houston, Texas.

In lieu of flowers and usual remembrances the family suggests memorial contributions in Barb's memory be made to Central Christian Academy, 2217 Bingle Road, Houston, Texas 77055.
