Barbara Scott

Barbara was born to Clifton Edward O’Meara and Eloise Blair O’Meara on January 12, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was raised in Houston, Texas and married Chester Earl Scott in Houston on April 14, 1951. They raised their two daughters in Angleton, Texas.

She is survived by daughter, Sue Ellen Ridings, and husband, Vern Ridings, daughter, Gay Lynn Wiginton, and husband, Kirk Wiginton; grandsons Sterling Ridings (and spouse Natalie Ridings), Phillip Wiginton (and spouse Megan Wiginton), Connor Wiginton (and spouse Megan Wiginton), granddaughter Christina Venker (and spouse Ben Venker); and great-grandchildren, Jack Ridings, Henry Ridings, Hayes Venker, Patton Wiginton, Caroline Wiginton, and Wyatt Wiginton. She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Kenneth O’Meara (and spouse Patti O’Meara), and multiple nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Earl Scott; father, Clifton Edward O’Meara; mother, Eloise Blair O’Meara; sister, Jane O’Meara White; brother, John Blair O’Meara; sister, Anne O’Meara Broady.

Barbara spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother with her focus and attention full of

kindness, sweetness, and understanding. She grew violets, had a greenhouse, loved music, dancing at Riverside Country Club and Surfside Beach, loved to read and play bridge, loved spending time at Lake Travis, hanging out on Tuesdays with Jack and Henry, and watching the Texas Longhorns.

A graveside service is scheduled for June 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas, 77023, with a reception to follow at Forest Park. The family requests that donations be made to the Alzhemier’s Association at https://www.alz.org/join_the_cause_donate.asp
