Barry Lee Renfro of Houston, Texas passed away on 12/12/2025 at the age of 78. He was born on October 5th, 1947, in Houston where he grew up playing baseball, collecting baseball cards, and building model cars.
Barry served his country in the Army National Guard and was very proud of his father’s service during WWII. He was actively involved in many hobbies, such as caring for both indoor and outdoor fish, as well as traveling extensively (though New Braunfels, San Marcos, and Yosemite National Park remained his favorites). He adored his family and his dog, Biscuit. He played golf, including making a hole in one he was very proud of. He loved music, history, and regularly pulled over the car to read historical markers to his children on car trips. He was a kind man who loved his family dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Lee Renfro and Mary Renfro, as well as his cherished in-laws, E.J. “Chuck” Metting and Sybil Metting.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon Metting Renfro, his son, Clint Lee Renfro (wife Amber and their children Carson and Avery) and his daughter, Jennfer Renfro Brownson (husband Craig and their children Natalie and Jacob.)
