Betty Joe Knowles was born March 27, 1949 in Houston, Texas to the late O.V. Knowles and Mary Lee Knowles. She departed this life on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Betty confessed Christ at an early age, under the leadership of Pastor J. T. Porter of Macedonia Baptist Church, later she joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Willie Wilson, Jr. for 27 years. Betty attended school in Houston and graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in May 1967. Betty later started her career in healthcare at Houston Methodist Hospital for 15 years. Betty was loved by her work family, friends and the many lives that she touched. Betty is preceded in death by her father O.V. Knowles, mother; Mary Lee Knowles, grandmother; Ida Jenkins, brother; Louis Knowles. Betty leaves to cherish her memories her son; Damien Knowles, daughter; Stephanie Knowles, granddaughter; Krystal Knowles, two sisters; Margaret Alexander and Gracie Doucet, brother; Anthony Knowles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
