

Betty Louise Strunk of Houston, passed away on August 18, 2012. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alfred Eugene Strunk; brother, Richard Manning and sister-in-law Charlene Manning. Betty is survived by daughters: Debra Hutchison, Ann Swinburne and husband Carl, Sandra Mock and husband Anthony, Pamela Crawford and husband James; eight grandchildren: Louis, James, Dale, Brad, Angela, Sarah, Laura, and Thomas; ten great-grandchildren who call her GaGa: Destiny, Vanessa, Jesse, Lily, Leah, Austin, Garrett, Ryan, Ally, and Ian; brother Bill Manning and wife Judy; sisters-in-law:
Elizabeth Strunk and Nona Schultz; many nieces and nephews.
Betty was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 31, 1929 to William Otto Manning and Charlotte Ruth Mobley Manning. She graduated from Southport High School in 1947. Betty and Gene were married on February 23, 1951. She held many jobs including homemaker, school secretary, day care manager and business owner. She was a talented seamstress, sewing many articles of clothing for the family and our dolls. There was always a garden with plenty of food to can. She never sat idle, always crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, embroidery, wood working. She loved to travel all over the country including a big trip to Alaska. She loved cruising, camping, fishing, even an occasional road trip.
She will be missed greatly.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Earthman Resthaven. Betty’s Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, August 22nd in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow in Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
