Bobbie Sue Simpson

Bobbie Sue Simpson was born in Houston, TX on February 12, 1949 to William B Simpson, Jr. and Eleanor Wood Simpson. She died peacefully on July 30, 2018 with her sister, Mary Simpson and her partner, Conni Mayatt, and very close and nurturing friends Sheila Smith and Becky Van Gundy by her side.

After high school, Bobbie worked at Fannin Bank, later becoming a field accountant for Manhattan Construction Co. She then worked 20 years with Bellaire Richmond Animal Hospital, where she was able to give and share her love for animals. She was a frequent volunteer at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, where she developed many relationships with other church members. Bobbie was loved by her many neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William B. Simpson, Jr. and Eleanor Jane Wood Simpson. She is survived by her sister, Mary Elna Simpson, her aunt Bobbie Wood Scott, cousins Eleanor Scott Leeper, CFT (Tommy) Scott, Suzi Perry, and many close and loving friends, as well as her much loved puppy, Riley Louise. Mary would like to express sincere thanks to the kind and loving staff at Houston Hospice and to close friends who devoted many hours of time visiting and overseeing her health and treatment. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 5-8 PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
