Britt is survived by his beloved wife Martha (Cooper) Braddick. They met when they were 14 years old and married June 8, 1963. Martha was the love of his life and he still called her his "Bride" after 58 years of marriage. They were devoted to each other and were able to travel and build a wonderful life together. He is also survived by sisters Natalie "Pods" Cato and JoAn Ainsworth and many nieces and nephews.
Britt graduated from Aldine High School in 1956. While working full time he earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1963, a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Houston in 1967 as well as a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1969.
Britt began working for TIW Corporation (Texas Iron Works) in 1959 and dedicated his career to the company. He began as a Draftsman and retired from the company as Executive Vice President and General Manager on his 80th birthday in 2018. Among his many accomplishments, he patented numerous products and designs and helped build international customer relationships for the company. He loved his fellow employees and built long lasting friendships with people around the world throughout his career.
Britt enjoyed studying history and was an avid reader, carrying a book with him everywhere he went. He loved to entertain, was a wonderful cook, and showed his love for family and friends by preparing delicious meals. Britt was known to be a joker and prankster and always had a funny story ready to tell. His wonderful sense of humor made it easy for him to make friends anywhere he went. He loved special friends Randall and Dorothy Shelton.
Britt was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church but attended Candlelight Church of Christ with Martha.
The past five years were very difficult for Britt. Martha cared for him, determined to keep him at home. Over two years ago, Johnny Peralta and Jesse Guzman became his caregivers. He loved Johnny and Jesse and wished they were his sons. They had fun every day, laughing, joking, and singing Louie Armstrong and Perry Como songs. The family would also like to express their appreciation to Festus Amoye, his physical therapist for many years. Their care added years to Britt's life. Special thanks also to Edwin Perdomo and Natalie Guzman.
