Carlos Rafael Tijerina, born on July 21, 1956, in Houston, went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2025, at the age of 68. A beloved and cherished individual, Carlos was known for his compassionate, devoted, and faithful nature. He was a gentle, hard-working, and humorous man, who was also inspirational, kind-hearted, loyal, thoughtful, and wise.
Carlos was the first-born son, raised in Catholic schools, and worked for the family business. He was married for 28 years to his wife, Sally Tijerina, and is survived by his three daughters, Evelyn and her husband Albert, Tammy, and Katherine and her husband Jason. His legacy includes five grandchildren, Nicholas, Daniel, Alyssa, Jonathan and wife Natalie, and Roy, and five great-grandchildren, Analyse, Andrew, Rozzlyn, Emilia, and Masen.
Carlos had a strong faith in God and was a member of the same church for 40 years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and was a loyal Metro bus rider. He often expressed gratitude for his family, proudly bragging about his three daughters.
Carlos's legacy will continue through the Tijerina name, as his uncle had a successful Mexican restaurant, Felix Mexican Restaurant, and a school named after him. As a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he will be dearly missed. We will miss you, buddy.
