

Carlyne McMenamy, a woman cherished by her family and loved by all who knew her, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2014. Carlyne was born January 5, 1928 to Ora Lee and Carl S. Sumrall in Ft. Worth, Texas. They soon moved to Quanah, Texas where Carlyne was raised and later met the love of her life, Jimmy Tom McMenamy. Carlyne was a cheerleader and Jimmy was co-captain of the football team. They were married 62 years ago on May 9, 1952.
Carlyne was employed with the telephone company until she began her greatest career of all as a loving and caring mother. Jimmy was employed with AMOCO Oil Company and because of his job transfers, the family was blessed to have lived in many exciting places and made wonderful, life-long friends along the way.
Carlyne has been a member of Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston for 37 years. She was an active member of the Ruth Class for many of those years and loved to help and be a part of the ministries there. Carlyne had a heart for family, friends, and others around her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Daughters: Brenda, Linda, and Carol McMenamy of Houston; Leann Tadrzak and husband David of Houston.
Son: Mike McMenamy of Phoenix, Arizona.
Grandson: James Tadrzak of Houston, who was the light of her life.
Sisters: Betty Jane Potter of Mesquite, Texas and Ruth Ann Williams of McKinney, Texas.
Sister-in-law: Ellen McMenamy of Denton, Texas.
Brothers-in-law: Roger McMenamy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Joe McMenamy and wife Joan of Orlando, Florida, and Jim Turner of Houston, Texas along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carlyne was proceeded in death by her parents, Ora Lee and Carl S. Sumrall; her in-laws W. B. McMenamy and Irene McMenamy; two sisters-in-law Bonnie McMenamy and Suzie Turner; and four brothers-in-law Billie, Bobby and Jerry Dale McMenamy, and Oren Potter.
