

Caroline Mae Mocek, 86, of Houston, passed away after a brief illness on December 24, 2023. She was born June 5, 1937, in Shiner, Texas, to Louis and Agnes Michalec, one of ten children. She moved to Houston after high school and started working at Houston Lighting & Power. She then moved on to Gulf Oil Company, which would merge with Chevron Oil Company, and worked with them for 33 years. In Houston, she met the love of her life Eddie Mocek and they were married on November 20, 1982. She loved to travel to bowling tournaments with her sister, Gertie, and enjoyed her Wednesday league nights with Eddie. She loved helping out with the Knights of Columbus Ladies’ Auxiliary and all of their fundraising. She also had a passion for all sports, including all of the Houston sports teams. She was predeceased by her husband, Eddie, brothers, Steve, Eugene, Robert, Dan, Alois, Jerry, Albert, and sister Gertie. She is survived by son, Brandon Mocek, and wife Andrea, grandson Tristan and step-granddaughter, Jasmine, and brother Paul Michalec and wife, Barbara, of Shiner, along with many other nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Caroline will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 5, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A committal service will occur Friday, January 5, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A reception will occur Friday, January 5, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
