Seeing him get choked up at the end of E.T. Poker at Camille's, and checking under the table to see if he was rubbing his feet together. The look on his face when the whole bunch of us found ourselves in the middle of the Black Rail. And who else in this world will be remembered for his aversion to white food?? His laugh, whether sarcastic or heartfelt, was singularly Chris. And his eyes-- they really did twinkle.

I pray that each of you will find comfort in knowing that he was loved by so many, and that some part of him will live forever in the hearts of those whose lives were touched by knowing him.

Wishing Matthew and I could be with you all today! My thoughts and prayers have been with you always, but especially within these last many days. I'll always remember Chris' terrific smile and fabulous sense of humor.  And mom's hilarious story about how he'd run away from her when y'all were little and go sliding under the bed and hold on to the springs for dear life so that he wouldn't get in trouble!  He's home now...and will certainly rest in peace.  I pray that you all are comforted by the great memories you have of him in your lives.  He's with you now, like your parents and grandmother, more so than ever.  God Bless You!!

Not sure I could say it any better than Kathy.  The twinkle and smile are certainly signature Chris and exactly what I remember too.  Ray says wow he looks just like Sandy.  This is how I remember Chris as well, kindred spirits with his younger sister Sandy.  Always sparing verbally.  Who could answer with the most snark and creative come back.  Coffee Out.  His maroon Olds Cutlass with the trunk in the backseat.  To this day I cannot drive across the Galveston Causeway without remembering Tony & Chris.  Chris & the whole Scanlin family will always be a part of me.  Memories to hold.  Our prayers are with each of you.  Love to all.  Linda
