Cindy worked with me for 16+ years.  She was a workhorse, and helped me handle a massive docket of cases across the state. She was fiercely loyal to me. She rarely complained and worked tirelessly, even when she became ill. If I needed something, I knew I could count on her to handle it. She routinely worked late and on weekends when I was preparing for trial. She handled personal matters for me, and was a master at scheduling around Longhorn football games and little league baseball practices and games. She handled my kids school fundraisers, travel arrangements and always reminded me of upcoming special occasions. She & Hector even packed and moved my office for me over the holidays one year, so I could go to the Rose Bowl and watch my beloved Longhorns win the National championship. She was widely loved by my clients, and they still ask about her to this day. She had a way of making everyone feel special. I will always remember the Christmas decorations she would bring to the office. Actually it was Hector who did the heavy lifting, often on weekends, and he, too never complained. I really never appreciated how awesome Cindy was until after she quit working for me. She was truly a person that could not be replaced. She was one of a kind, and I wish I had told her more often how much she meant to me. Even after she got sick, she continued to work, and her determination to continue to work despite her limitations was an inspiration to us all. More than a trusted employee, she was a true friend. I am blessed that she came in to my life when she did, and she was a special friend to all of my family, and especially my kids, Austin, Sidney and Chance. Her kindness and generosity will always be remembered. My thoughts and prayers are with your family, especially Hector and Terry. Cindy was truly one of a kind, and I will always cherish the memories of the time we had together.

I am lucky enough to have known Cindy all of my life.  She was always honest, caring, funny, and the life of the party.  You always knew where you stood with her as she was completely genuine. I have been trying to write something for a few days. I find it very hard to believe that you are gone, Cindy. I am so glad I visited you just a few hours before you were called- not sure you heard me, but that doesn't matter. I know you are now looking after Terry and Hector, and are now resting-with no more pain or suffering. Thank you for all the years of fun and family celebrations! I will never think of "mantequilla" (butter) without thinking of you . . . I think that was the first Spanish word you learned and dad loved to hear you say it- I can hear him laughing now! Nor will I be able to listen to that other Cuban you loved so much [Pitbull] without thinking of you. Cindy, you fought a very brave battle against that awful disease. You will always live in our memories! Terry and Hector, I don't know what to say to you- I know how difficult this is. May the Lord give you strength. Cindy, we miss you already and we always will. . .

I am sorry for this loss to Hector and Terry and all her friends.  My wife and I have known Cindy for many years.  We met when we moved in across the street from Rudy and Terry.  She was a great friend to us and I will miss her.  I offer my deepest sympathies.

Cindy was my dearest friend.  We met 33 years ago this month when she became my supervisor at a job neither of us liked.  That was our first bond.  We had nothing in common, but became the best of friends. We worked together about 6 months, but became personally and permanently entangled in each other's lives.  I was the matron of honor in hers and Hector's wedding, she was there when my first grandchild was born.  I was with her when her father passed away, she was there for me during the lengthy illness and death of my mother.  When I was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago, she thought I was the strongest, toughest person she'd ever met.  Little did we know the deep well of strength she would need to endure her own trials.  Together, she and Hector faced every challenge, crossed every hurdle, braved every obstacle.  She was amazing.  Her indomitable spirit was a remarkable and humbling thing to witness.  She was my best friend.  My heart is broken.  I'll miss her forever.

I met Cindy 33 years ago this month when she became my supervisor at a job neither of us really liked.  We were partners in crime.   We had absolutely nothing in common, but became the best of friends. She not only saw my children grow up, she saw my first grandchild into this world. We cried on each others shoulders through all the tragedies life dealt us, including the loss of some of our dearest  family members. I was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago and Cindy was one of my greatest cheerleaders, and thought I was the strongest, toughest woman she'd ever known. Little did we know the degree of strength and courage that Cindy would be called upon to muster. And she did. She seldom let her despair be seen in a public arena. She was strength and courage personified, but she had the tenderest, sweetest heart. She was the best friend I'll ever have. Faithful, loyal,  gracious and kind. A lion when defending those she loved. I'll miss her forever.

We are so sad for all of Cindy's family and friends, knowing that this light has gone out for you. May the Lord truly comfort you. We offer our deepest condolences.

I'm so sorry about this loss for her husband and mom, and the rest of her family and friends. Throughout my life I've known Cindy as an intelligent, energetic and loving person. Although our relationship has been long-distance in recent years, we've always maintained a genuinely positive and happy relationship. She will be dearly missed.

I met Cindy almost 20 years ago. We were both working at the same firm.  She was a true and loyal friend.  Until she got sick we had lunch about once a month for almost 20 years though we only worked together for a short time. Spending time with Cindy was always a lively and fun time!! Cindy was a beautiful person full of life who loved her family and friends!  She was called home way too soon!  Rest in peace my friend!

I was blessed to share a close friendship with Cindy. We worked together for several years for attorney A. Scot Chase. She was very intelligent, generous, loving, sweet and sassy. She was like an aunt for my daughter, Danielle, always asking me, "So, where's Danielle?" and she teased me when I couldn't give her an answer! Cindy and I had a friendly "Christmas decorating the office" each year to see who could outdo the other. (She always won.) I loved her like a sister and we celebrated birthdays at Carrabba's Italian Restaurant. She enjoyed dressing up for Halloween, and always brought smiles to everybody's faces. May you rest in peace, my dear friend. Thank you for making such good memories in our lives.

Cindy and I met almost 20 years ago and worked together at several law firms. Cindy is the most loving and caring person I know.  She always had a good disposition (except when she got really mad which was rare).  She was a poet, an author and a gift giver; a cheerful person to be around, and would always go above and beyond to help someone.  Cindy, my dear dear friend, may you rest in peace.  I will always love you and you remain in my heart forever.

God Bless her family for taking such good care of her throughout her recent struggles. Cindy did love life and life will not be the same without her. I shall truly miss her smile, her thoughtfulness and her laughter.  She was a good person and a good friend.

I only knew Cindy for a little while.  I was charged with helping her maintain her independence as long as possible.  We laughed, were scared, shared stories of our families, confided about loved ones, and were realistic about the prospects for the future.  I had lost someone close to me that was also diagnosed with ALS.  I shared my fears, joys, and hopes for her in her battle.  I was sure she would be one of the ones that would beat the progression.  She fought with great dignity and made me laugh often.  She talked incessantly about Hector and the adventures they had experienced.  I admired her strength and her zest for life.  We will all miss her and the world has lost a light this week.  My condolences to her family, friends, and Hector.  She was like a shooting star, bright when she ran across the sky, but faded too quickly.  Prayers from my family to yours.  Rest in peace.
