Daniel "Danny" Henry Longwell Jr.

Daniel Henry Longwell, Jr., also known as Danny, was born in Baton Rouge, LA on July 17, 1959 and passed away on March 22, 2022. He is preceded in death by his father, “Danny Sr.” and his brother “Larry”. Danny is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth Longwell of Houston and Shelby Verity of Houston, his mother Barbara Longwell of Houston and brother Jeff Longwell from Oklahoma City, OK as well as 2 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Danny was a graduate of Strake Jesuit Branch High School in Houston, TX, and had many lifelong friends from that class. Upon graduation, he enrolled at the University of Texas in Austin where he attended for several years. He was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity while at UT. After his time at the UT, Danny entered the US Army where he was a specialist with the Special PhyOps division.

After leaving the Army, Danny had several jobs in the Houston area as well as had his own remodeling company for a while. Danny really found his calling when he took a job with AT&T. He spent over 20+ years with AT&T as a field tech where he had many respected co-workers and many friends.

Danny had a great love for the outdoors, fishing on the Gulf Coast, bird hunting including duck, goose and dove and just loved being in the outdoors. He had many good friends that joined him in these activities and this is was his favorite thing to do.

Danny was a simple man that could be called on to help in any situation. He will be sorely missed by many. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that if you desire, please donate to the charity of your choice in his name.

A gathering of family and friends celebrating Danny will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas.
