Daniel was active in the Czech/German music community having played with the Rudy Kurtz, Bill Mraz and Donnie Wavra Orchestras and was a member of K of C 3081, Shiner, TX.
Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Kurtz; son Daniel J. Kurtz, Jr. and wife Sherri; daughter, Cindy Davis and husband Barry; loving grandfather to Lexi Laken, Lindsey Davis and Daniel Joseph Kurtz; sister, Helen Malick, brothers, Eddie, Laddie and Ernest Kurtz.
Visitation with the family will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, the Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2011 in the Waltrip Chapel. Interment will be in Shiner Catholic Cemetery.
