
Daniel Lynn Pregeant was born on February 26, 1945 and went to be with the heavens above on October 9, 2014. He was a loving father who enjoyed to do many hobbies. He was a nature lover who always wanted to be outside doing something, whether it was camping, hiking, family picnics, or just being outside to enjoy the weather. He enjoyed working on automobiles, homemade items, model kits, outdoor projects, manual machines for work (including lathes, mills, presses, and etc.), and anything that he could tinker with. The man always had a knack for wanting to do repairs and to do his best to keep whatever possible in tip-top shape. He loved collecting anything that was interesting to him including old coins, stamps, memorabilia of famous individuals, and antiques.
In the early years, Dan was a proud graduate from St. Thomas High School in 1963. Soon after High School he proceeded to enroll in the United States Army where he served as a Personnel Specialist. A few awards that he received were for Good Conduct and being an Expert Marksman. After being Honorably Discharged in 1970, he went on to attend South Texas College. During his college years, Dan began to pursue a career in the oil and gas field starting in 1967. The following companies that he worked for throughout his life include Hughes Tools 1967-1978, Allied Tools 1972-1974, Landreth Engineering 1974-1976, Texsteam 1976-1993, A.E. Machine 1993-2003, and Currently he was working for Pathway Control Products, Inc..
Daniel Lynn Pregeant is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Grace Pregeant, and his brothers Vernon and Michael Pregeant. He is survived by his Daughter Marie Lynn Pregeant and his sister Peggy Schroeder. Also survived by Vernon’s Children Suzette Gunn, David Pregeant, Tammie Steinman and Rhonda Clemens. Also survived by Michael’s children Michael Pregeant Jr., William Pregeant and Nikki Pregeant. Also survived by Peggy’s children Robert Schroeder Jr., Brett Schroeder and Daniel Schroeder. And finally, Dan is survived by many grand nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 6-9pm for the visitation at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, located at 6900 Lawndale Street Houston, TX 77023. Following Friday, a Graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 beginning at 1 pm. Family and friends will be able to gather any time before 12:45 pm to see Daniel in a chapel on the inside of the funeral home.
