Daniel Herman Wiley, age 87, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 in Temple, Texas. He was born in Houston, Texas to Dan Henry Wiley and Matilda Grothe Wiley. He graduated from Reagan High School and received an Associates Degree in Electrical Technology from San Jacinto College. He married Helen Seidl in 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and worked as a Draftsman and Electrical Engineer for Exxon. He moved to Rockdale in 1978 and to Temple in 1980. In Temple he owned and operated Western Auto and the Good Year Store on Loop 363 and also owned Wiley Custom Homes. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, the American Legion, Oak Forest Masonic Lodge in Houston and the SPJST in Seaton. Survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Wiley; daughter, Danean Myers and her husband Dave of Kansas City, Missouri; grandson, Jason Hogan of Wendell, North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. The Celebration of LIfe Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 4, 2016 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
