David was born in Houston, TX on July 5, 1954, to Charlie Cantrell Estes and wife, Eunice Lorene Lemon. He was born two months pre-mature then fell very sick shortly after. As the medical professionals worked to save David’s life, he sustained nerve damage in both his ears and became deaf as a result.
However, this did not stop David from living a loving and full life. After attending public school in Pasadena, David transferred to Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, TX. Being away from David was hard on him and his family, but the family was dedicated to making sure David received the education he needed to have opportunities and be successful.
David did just that. After graduating from TSD, he went on to Lee College and studied offset printing, where he was recruited by the State of Texas to help run their internal print shop. David not only helped run it but was promoted to print shop supervisor and after 31 years of employment, retired from the State of Texas and was honored to have the print shop renamed the “David C. Estes Print Shop”.
David loved God, was baptized, and attended Westbury Church of Christ, Watters Road Church of Christ, Southeast Church of Christ, and Tomball Church of Christ.
David was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Cantrell Estes; mother, Eunice Lorene Royal, father-in-law Charles Rose, mother-in-law Fern Rose, brother-in laws, Donald Herbert Spradling and Layne H. Connevey.
He is survived by wife, Marie Rose Estes; son, David Charlie Estes, Jr.; daughter in law, Carol Ann Estes; daughter, Staci Marie Bryan; son in law, Chase Tanner Bryan; Grandchildren, Brooklyn Claire Estes, Owen Charlie Estes, Wyatt Thomas Estes, Sawyer Layne Estes and Wade Tanner Bryan; sister Sylvia Spradling; brother Victor Estes; and sister-in-law Brenda Estes. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David was a man that showed his love by actions and would constantly remind you of how much you were loved by him. If you were in his vicinity, he sought you out and brought others along as well. We will miss the light that he provided in each of our lives.
