David Joseph Grace, 72, of Houston was born in St. Joseph Hospital on March 19, 1953. David died Tuesday June 24 after a courageous battle with cancer. David is preceded in death by his mother, Annie B. Grace and father, David R. Grace.

David's daughter Jenna Grace Lucas, grandson Gavin and granddaughter Reilyn of Palestine Tx, survived by sisters Janet Owen, and Colette Brasfield; Niece Jennifer and nephews Chris, and Michael.
As a young man David enjoyed hunting and fishing trips with his dad and trips with other relatives. He began working with his dad and soon began driving 18 wheelers for a living. As a cross country driver, he delivered produce from the valleys of California, he also delivered oil field equipment to North Dakota and along the Gulf coast. He retired from Ameco where he delivered to the Baytown and Freeport areas.
In his early years David developed a care-free lifestyle, loved riding motorcycles and attended many events. Over the years he owned many motorcycles and cars. He enjoyed going to the race tracks and working on his own cars, motorcycles and 18 wheeler.
As he got older, his real enjoyment came from watching his children find their true happiness in life.
David's family is proud of the warrior-like willingness he had toward his health battle. He recently celebrated the successful 3 yr anniversary of his liver transplant. In his fight with cancer, his response to suggestions from every doctor was "you're the boss". He wore himself out fighting, now he is at peace.
Most people may be surprised to know that David's spiritual beliefs were very personal and private but important to him. He rarely missed his prayer time with God and directed his prayers for others, with little thought for himself. David Grace was a good man, is loved and will be missed by many.
A visitation for David will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 at 9:00 AM, at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Monday, June 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM. With a committal service to follow at 11:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
