

Dennis Vollers of Houston, Texas passed away on. December 21, 2024, at the age.of sixty-five. He was born on December 30, 1958, in Houston, Texas where he grew up. Dennis was born to Eugene (Gene) Julius Vollers and Blanche Grace Sparks Vollers. He had two older sisters, Genie, and Nancy. He lived with his mom and dad until their deaths and then moved in with Nancy.
Dennis loved to go to church and his Special Friends Sunday School class at Sagemont Church before dementia really set in. When he was younger, he liked playing softball with his special needs team. He also loved wrestling on TV with his family. He was such a loving and giving person. He never knew a stranger and would love you to pieces.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Genie Marbut and his niece, Debbie Sotomayor.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy, and her husband, Eddie Carlton. He also had six nieces and nephews that were raised along with him by Nancy and her husband. They are Michelle (Randy) Pewthers, Mandy Sigsbee, Justin (Gisella) Gaskill, Kristin (Richard) Sorenson, Chris Carlton, and Cody (Hannah) Carlton. He is also survived by twenty-two great nieces and nephews and one on the way and six great great nieces and nephews. One of those great nephews is his sister, Genie's grandson, Heath Sotomayor (Haydee), and his brother-in-law, Joe Sotomayor.
He lived with his sister for 50 years. The last 13 years he had dementia, Eddie and Nancy shared the caregiving of Dennis.
The family would like to thank Harbour Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Dennis in his final days. We would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital and the doctors, nurses, and staff at Baywind Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.
