She was born in Houston, Texas on July 30, 1950, to Sophie Pavlock and Johnny Arnold. Dianne graduated from Sam Houston High School in Houston, Texas. She married her High School sweetheart, David King, at the age of 19. They had been married for 54 years and he was the love of her life. They had two children, Kimberly and David Jr. Her passion was her family, anything her children were involved in she became their biggest cheerleader. She was the foundation and pillar of the family. She was one of the kindest, soft-spoken, selfless, and supportive people you could ever meet. Not only to her own children, but to all of their friends. She was the true meaning of the "Kool-Aid" Mom. Sports had been the biggest part of her kids' lives. She was always the team mom for their softball, football, and baseball teams. She never missed a game whether it was Little League or High School. She would attend every event, no matter its importance, if her kids or grandkids were part of it. Her loyalty to her kids and grandkids remained even as they became adults. Dianne would ensure she was part of her children and grandchildren’s everyday lives so much that they became her best friends. She did not have many hobbies, but in her later years she enjoyed traveling the world. She was able to visit; United Kingdom, France, Italy, Netherlands, Scotland, and Canada to name a few. She was always ready to go on a new adventure and explore history.
Dianne worked at Shell Oil Company for 30 years before she retired. She became a real estate agent putting her kids through college, and then supported her husband and son opening their own surveying company and managing their office.
She is survived by her husband, David; her children, Kimberly, and David Jr along with their spouses Stephen Dias and Rhea King; her brother, John Arnold; her grandchildren, Madeline, Khloe, David III; as well as her nieces and nephews.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Please share your stories of remembrance on the dignity website or at the funeral on Tuesday.
