

Doris Louise Padgett Brouse, a brave, kind-hearted, resilient, and humorous soul, passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on December 13, 1933, Doris grew up in Bellaire, Texas, across the street from the Evergreen Pool and Park. She graduated from San Jacinto High School in Houston, Texas.
Doris met and married her husband, Bill, a friend of her brother James, and they shared 65 years of marriage. Doris was a full-time housewife, a devoted wife and mother to three children. She shared an exceptional bond with her mother, Gladys Padgett, who was very hands-on in helping with the children. Preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Brouse. She is survived by her brother, James Padgett and her children, Valorie Rinn and husband James, Vicki Brouse, Susan Brouse and husband Tim Sandel. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
An artist at heart, Doris had a natural talent for oil paintings, focusing on landscapes, animals, flowers, horses, and anything that caught her attention. She began with art lessons and painted throughout her life, gifting family and friends with many treasured pieces.
The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to everyone at The Reserve at Katy Assisted Living Facility for their care and friendship.
Doris will always be remembered for her standing weekly hairdresser appointments and family inside stories of sunglasses and pecan trees. She resided in Katy, Texas, where she left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
