Dorothy Sanders

Dorothy and Dorotheo twins were born in Hempstead, Texas to Robert and Susie Burton. Her twin sister, mother and father preceded her in death. She attended public schools in Hempstead, Texas. She married Earle Boyd, and then later to Brockman Sanders. Both preceded her in death. Dorothy moved to Houston, Texas in 1965. She joined Sloan United Methodist Church under the leadership of Pastor C. C. Jammer. In May 1986, she was baptized at Buck Street Church of God in Christ. Pastor Nathaniel McGinnis and Elder Charles Harrison performed the baptism. She worked in the Houston Independent School District System as a teacher’s aide for 21 years. She retired in 1992. Dorothy had two brothers, Jerry Sr., and Clarence; five sisters, Dorotheo (twin), Earnestine, Eva, Shirley Ann and Georgia Ruth. Her beloved son, Kenneth preceded her in death; two grandsons, Samuel Raye Jr., and Isaiah; her beloved sister-in-law, Ruby Smith; three nephews, Terry, Jerry Jr., and Jerome; one niece, Paula who all preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn, two beloved sons, Jerry and Samuel; beloved grandchildren, Yolando, Adrian, Victor, LaTonya, Sonya, Fransha, Tamara, Marquette, Randy; stepsons, Johnny and William; beloved great-grandchildren; beloved nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and one nephew Michael Smith; devoted daughter-in-law, other relatives and devoted friends.
