Mr. Edward “Buddy” Jones, age 74, of Houston, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Edward was born in Houston, Texas. “Buddy” graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and went on to serve his country in The United States Army during The Vietnam War.
He was married to Ruby Johnson on January 13, 1969 and later shared a common law marriage with Betty Minor for 15 years. Buddy had a career with the City of Houston Flood Control, where he retired after 10+ years of dedicated service.
He was a member of New Life Tabernacle Church of God In Christ, under the leadership of Pastor Carl Davis. He has a passion for fishing, reading The Holy Bible and watching sports.
Edward is survived by his sons Jerrod Minor and Sean Minor; and his daughter Crystal Minor; his sisters Cora B. Wilson (James) and Alverta Flood (Dwight), a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife Ruby (Johnson)Jones; his parents Jack Jones and Gladys Louise (Buchanan)Jones).
